Staff Biographies

Jennifer A. Apes is the Clerk of Courts for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court. She has been employed with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court since September 19, 1994, when she was hired as Deputy Court Clerk. In 2000, Jennifer was promoted to Clerk of Courts. Jennifer graduated from Huntington Institute’s paralegal program in 1993 and worked at area law firms before joining the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court staff. As Clerk of Courts, Jennifer processes all claims filed as well as associated pleadings, fields litigant inquiries, schedules hearings and trials, records proceedings in court, and prepares basic orders. Patricia Brune, the Tribal Court’s Administrative Assistant, joined the court staff in 2003. Prior to joining the court Pat worked as a Recording Secretary for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council. Pat brings many years of legal experience to Tribal Court, notably from the law firms of TCORS and Conway, Londregan, Sheehan & Monaco in New London, Connecticut, where she assisted the firms’ civil trial attorneys. Pat has a two year Paralegal Certificate from the University of New Haven and graduated magna cum laude from Three Rivers Community Technical College, where she was indoctrinated into the Phi Theta Kappa Society while obtaining her Associates Degree in General Studies. Pat is a native of Queens, New York and lives in Groton, Connecticut with her husband.
