The Elders Council is comprised of all the Elder Members of the Mashantucket (Western) Pequot Tribe. There are three (3) elected officers of the Elders Council which are the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary/Treasurer. The mission of the Elders Council is as follows: We, the Elders Council of the Mashantucket (Western) Pequot Tribal Nation, being Representative Heads of the Tribal Families, through our wisdom and knowledge do hereby establish this Mission Statement; "In appreciation to the Great Spirit and our ancestors, and in recognition of the responsibilities bestowed upon us through our Tribal Constitution we shall uphold the Constitution and By-Laws of the Tribe in order to protect our sovereignty and preserve and protect the safety, culture, and the overall well-being of the Tribal Community."
